The act of getting ready turns into a grotesque performance—full of beautification rituals, illusions, and absurd fantasies of success and the “perfect life.”
Its retro-futuristic aesthetic sarcastically emphasizes the gap between illusion and reality.

The result is a surreal reflection on the pressure of self-presentation in the age of social media

Director Statement

Class Reunion is an AI-generated music video that explores identity, illusion, and performance in the age of social media. Inspired by the surreal humor and raw honesty of the Czech duo Čokovoko, I aimed to build a synthetic visual world that both exaggerates and critiques contemporary rituals of beautification and self-staging.

To achieve this, I used tools such as Midjourney, Runway ML, and Kling. In doing so, I constructed a retro-futuristic aesthetic that deliberately distorts bodily presence and materiality. Consequently, the work becomes a hybrid of music video, digital hallucination, and social satire.

For me, working with generative models is not only about producing images; rather, it is about collaborating with systems that simulate culture. In addition, I am interested in how artificial intelligence reshapes our sense of authenticity, intimacy, and visual memory. Through glitchy, hyperreal scenes, Class Reunion therefore reflects both the joy and the anxiety of being seen in a world where appearance is endlessly performative.
