About

Jiří Philippe Janda

Jiří Philippe Janda is a visual artist, architect, and researcher in the field of generative art.

In his practice, he merges artificial intelligence with art, focusing on the creation of immersive worlds and digital ecosystems. His work explores the blurred boundaries between technology and nature, reality and hyperreality. Using AI, video, and spatial interventions, he constructs narrative structures that reflect contemporary anxieties as well as speculative visions of the future.

He is the author of the acclaimed music video Class Reunion, which won the Grand Prize at the 2025 Bali International AI Film Festival and continues to gain recognition at film and art festivals worldwide. He is currently a doctoral student at the Faculty of Art and Design in Ústí nad Labem, where his research examines the relationship between human and machine creativity and how we place trust in images in the era of artificial intelligence.

Artist statement

I perceive the world as a space where reality merges with fiction, where algorithms dream, and artificial intelligence becomes my creative companion. I am an architect of both physical and digital landscapes—a creator of worlds that never existed, yet may feel real to someone.

In my work, I explore the boundaries between matter and data, nature and industry, past and future. I don’t see AI merely as a tool, but as an entity with its own language and aesthetics—an entity I engage in dialogue with. Through generative images and videos, I search for new forms of visual communication and viewer interaction.

My focus is not on isolated images or videos, but on building cohesive worlds—digital ecosystems with their own histories, structures, and internal logic. Each of my projects is part of a broader narrative that intertwines technology with organic forms and gives rise to new mythologies.

My work has been presented at exhibitions and festivals, contributing to ongoing discussions about the future of art and technology. I’m not drawn to nostalgia for the analog world—I’m interested in what comes next. What new rituals, images, and stories will the era of generative aesthetics bring?

Education

My path weaves through architecture, design, and digital arts:

Now – PhD candidate at the Faculty of Art and Design, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University
Researching AI-generated art, speculative worlds & hybrid media.

2016 – Master’s in Architecture & Civil Engineering, VSB-TUO

2014 – Erasmus at İstanbul Kültür University
Immersed in cultural intersections of architecture and art.

2013 – Bachelor’s in Architecture & Civil Engineering, VSB-TUO
