Industrial Bestiary
Mood video
An audiovisual work blending elements of sci-fi, satire, and ecological reflection.
This pseudo-documentary, set in the future, follows an exploratory expedition into the Ústí nad Labem region—a landscape once heavily impacted by industrial activity. In this abandoned terrain, contaminated by waste and toxic substances, a new ecosystem has evolved: hybrid life forms merging biological processes with technological remnants.
Film: Jiří Philippe Janda
These entities are not merely mutations of nature but metaphors for ecological trauma, technological legacy, and societal adaptation.
Industrial Bestiary bears witness to what remains when humanity’s footprint exceeds its bounds—and what can emerge anew from it.
The work is part of the RUR project, aiming for a just transformation of the Ústí nad Labem region in line with the EU’s climate goals for 2050.
